You just don't ever realise what your facial nerves do for you, until you're without one of em. It's a flippin design flaw, poking such an important nerve that does such a lot, through that tiny hole in your bone. It's just bound to stick and go numb if it gets inflamed!

I had some ultrasound on mine, dunno if it helped or not, but at least you feel like something's being done .....

I hope things start to improve soon Caroline, it must be really frustrating not being able to judge depth. Good luck with you call to NHS Direct.

My depth perception was never brilliant, but normally i manage to not walk i nto people or cut myself.

The lady I spoke to at NHS was sympathetic, but didn't tell me anything I didn't expect. It is recorded I have asked for help.

Hubby has made me an appointment to see a different doctor tomorrow and he is comming with me

The human body is amazing and it is hardly surprising it goes wrong sometimes. Good job I like soup and mashed potato.

My current doctor is bad at sending you for anything out of the ordinary. The doctor atthe drop in centre gave me a link to a site where I could get some exercise which have helped but my own doctor is as good as a paper bag to bail a sinking boat...

I will see how I get on tomorrow, but a change of doctors is on the cards

I saw the doctor (different o ne to last Monday) and I have a certificate for two more weeks off, with the option of more if I need it. I will see how I am in two weeks.

Thanks everyone for listening to whinges and for all of your support through this.

There is always plenty to do round here. I am a terrible patient as I HAVE to be doing things instead of resting. Hubby falls asleep in self defence and big boy takes little feller up in the bedroom to play games.
