Maybe you should just try cutting down a little and replace some of your tea with a decaf alternative? If you are feeling rubbish it can't be good for you and must mean you are changing things too quickly. Our bodies need time to adjust!
Natalie , this is what im doing ive replaced teabags with decafinated t bags thats what i think the headaches are all about :(

Been told i have to cut back on cups of tea , after seeing a bladder doctor on tuesday !!!! Admittly i do drink about 10 cups of tea a day , but this is this my way of coping with stress , i dont drink or smoke but reach for a nice hot cuppa when stressed :( ,it didnt help that the doctor was talking to me like a 5 year old who had , had too many sweets . Been told the most i can have is 2-3 cups of decafinated tea which actually isnt too bad but i have had the most awful headache yesterday and today which i can only think is caffine withdrawal 😱

Oh no if I was told to cut down on tea I honestly don't know how I would cope lol, I absolutely love my tea :D I hope that headache gets better and well done for cutting down sucessfully, you're a braver person than I am! Sheena x

Hi jenny I now only drink green tea and have cut out sugar it was awful at first but now i find it so refreshing mind you i also use like you as a stress reliever some times 10 - 15 cups a day it is only a matter of time before some one discovers that is bad for me and that will be another pleasure gone west !

Sorry, what I mean is, say, have 5 cups of normal tea and fill in the rest with decaf so you are reducing the amount more slowly rather than cutting out caffeine altogether

Not a bad idea , will try 2/3 normal and rest decaf thanks Natalie 😉

A couple of cups of normal tea does have health benefits, so I'd go with the suggestion to do half normal and half herbal. Mind you I should talk, I used to drink gallons of black coffee years ago when I worked in an office. Then when I started with high blood pressure I cut out coffee completely and had horrendous withdrawal symptoms for a while. I now have just 2 cups per day and drink green tea with lemon the rest of the time. Took a bit of getting used to but I love it now. I occasionally have lemon and ginger or jasmine tea too. Plus lots of water of course. XXXXX

The antioxidants in tea that promote good health are in both normal and decaff variety so there is no reason to stick with caffeinated tea unless you like the caffeine kick.

I couldn't cope without my tea!! My MD has normal tea until lunch time then goes decaf for the rest of the day.

I have squash whilst I'm at work then tea the rest of the time. Can't beat a good brew! :D

Hence the User Name! 🙂 I have just counted and I have had 5 mugs so far today. I tend to drink less in the late afternoon, and none in the evening.
