Bedtime levels?

Only if you are on a medication like Gliclazide or insulin which could take you too low overnight, but if you are on Metformin or just controlled by diet then you will be fine and 4.8 is a great reading.
 
Looking through your previous posts I see you are on Gliclazide, so you might want to have a small savoury biscuit with cheese or half a digestive before you go to bed.

Do I remember you were trying to speak to your surgery about adjusting your doses?
 
Yes, my appointment has been shifted by a month so I‘m accidentally experimenting with lowering Gliclazide as I forgot to bring my pills with me (tho have my Metformin) and so far so good. Levels seem to be holding steady between 5.6 and 6.3.
