For a few months I've been awaiting the call for my 'Annual review'. It was due in April, but there has been a change in the team at the hospital and they got rather behind.

I phoned a day or two ago to check and see whether my appointment was any nearer and suddenly I have an appointment for early September. Blood tests for my long-awaited HbA1c are next week.

Of course now every high reading crashes down on me like a ton of bricks. I'd even managed to just about hold my averages together while we were in Cornwall for a few weeks. For the last few days I've been up in the teens *far* too often for my liking and I keep thinking NOT NOW!!! Especially since HbA1cs are weighted to the weeks nearest the test 😱

Last HbA1c was 7.1 and I was hoping for one in the 6's.

Any guesses?

6.9%.................good luck dude.............🙂

I'm going for 7.0%, but hopefully you get what you would like

I'll plump for 6.8%.

DO you know what your average is Mike? Or would that be giving too much away ?! :D

I'm sure it'll be better than you fear.

Rob

Well that depends when you are looking

30, 60 and 90 day averages are all 7.1

7 day average is 8.3 😱

14 day average is somewhere in between

Looks like you have worked hard for those numbers, my 7 day average is 8.4 currently, and that's quite good in my opinion........i think you may be pleasantly surprised..........

They are really good averages I think your HBA1c will be 7 or lower

Still a few weeks left to put things right, I predict a 6.9 but hope it's lower.

I go for 6.8

Dodger

Hope it goes okay Mike and its just a blip with the higher levels! I'll go for 6.7 🙂

And the winner is...

MEEEEEEE!

Well... Steff was closest, but no one got it spot-on.

HbA1c came in at 6.3

Good enough to make me feel the hard work is paying off, not low enough to incur the 'You must be having far too many hypos' conversation

:D

^^^^^^

Should have read WE knew !!!!

Congrats Mike :D

Nothing better than seeing results for your hard work.

Sarah :D

Brilliant result! Well done :D

Very good going you've worked hard indeed..

My consultant nor my surger DSN never give the too many hypo's drill, but when my GP see's my results she always asks about hypo's.. But I do have a pump which generally give's you tigher control..

Mind you I've just done a blip, I've got my bloods coming up soon, and muggings went to Chelteham the weekend, which means a 1.5 hour motorway drive... So had raised my BG up so it stayed in the 6's and not my normal 5... wonder how much that's going to effect things
