Pub meal last night. Chose smoked salmon & cod fishcakes in a cream & leek sauce with pea shoots and a mixed salad. Was expecting breadcrumbed fishcakes but they were battered. Two hours later 7.1 on the meter. Not usually in the sevens post-prandial so I guess that was the batter.

Delicious meal, though.

Sounds worth it, Martin, if it only sent you up to 7.1 - it might be a bit higher than usual for you, but it's well within range for 2 hours after a meal, a lot of diabetics would be delighted to see it! 🙂

Sounds okay to me. 🙂

That’s the figure I would probably start at so enjoy Anitram x sorry - Martin x

Fishcakes are usually made with potato, so perhaps a combination of the batter and filling and most likely some flour to thicken the sauce too. So pleased you enjoyed it. Sounds like a great result. I would be absolutely delighted with a reading of 7.1 . I am struggling to get down to that sort of reading eating low carb and injecting insulin.

No need to apologise - it's still me ( try spelling it backwards).
