Anyone tried these? Virtually no carbs/cals (8 cals a portion!). Giving them a spin tonight with my dinner with tuna steak marinated in garlic, ginger, soy and spring onion with a large side of roasted veg!!

I want your dinner 🙂

I had those when I was on a high protein/low carb diet some years ago. Great for filling you up, but you need to make sure you rinse them really well before you cook them, and watch out for gas tomorrow...

Well, the verdict is that they were ok but not great! Given that they are almost all water, they were actually quite chewy! Not sure I'll bother again! I'd probably rather have a smaller portion of wholewheat spaghetti!

I couldn't cope with the texture really...felt sort of chewy and a bit odd to me. Might be ok in a small portion in with other things and a strong sauce.

I tried them a while back and thought that they were horrible. Wanted to give you a chance to try them as I know that I am quite fussy. Sorry that you did not like them :(

To be honest, I find courgetti far more satisfying, not to mention significantly cheaper, when noodles or spaghetti might be the more usual. For rice, I favour cauliflower rice.

I have either my wide feeder food processor or a spiralizer for noodles, and my food processor, both with a grater blade for cauli rice.

Coincidentally enough, Lidl are advertising a spiralizer for £9.99 or a single blade veg tool (fine courgetti, wider courgetti or ribbons) for £2.99 each. Could be worth trying.

Having tried a commercial brand (at c£2.50 a pop) I decided to have a go at making these noodles. I found a recipe on Youtube at
. I had to invest in a plastic noodle press and some strange ingredients, but after the initial outlay you can make tonnes of them for next to nothing. They don't taste of anything and do have a strange texture, but you get used to this and they fill you up like nothing else. This is important if, like me, you're a greedy guts. I use them in soups and dishes that have strong sauces.

NB: You need to be careful washing up to avoid blocking your drains. I learned this the hard way.
