Found Barenaked noodles in Holland and Barrett yesterday. It is buy one get one half price at the moment, sorry can' remember how much they were. It says on the pouch that they are low in carbohydrates and calories. Has anyone tried them?

There are several brands available, the generic name being shiritake (and several similar spellings). They're made from a kind of yam flour, which has no digestible carbs. I use them for most noodle-based dishes. They have no flavour at all, so you need a good sauce with them. Don't attempt to dry fry them - tey go rock hard if they dry out. The texture is a bit odd, a bit like squid. I hope you enjoy them - very filling!

Thanks LeeLee I'll let you know what I think. I am always looking for low carb ingredients. I have heard that there is a type of past around as well but have not found it yet. Quite often had pasta before my diagnosis, will have to watch the sauce. 🙂

Tried these & I eat a lot of stir fries. A pan full of veggies & chicken. They taste fine 🙂 Very little carbs 😉
