My optician is open but they are hiding behind masks and your not allowed to cuddle the receptionist any more 🙂 . Very friendly optician as well. Receptionist is his wife.

I thought opticians were closed for routine checks during the lockdown, but I have not paid much attention to the outside world as it means little to me while shielding. I believe that weather is still happening too? That is good news about opticians though, as they may not have such a backlog of appointments after all once I fully re-emerge into the world.
It might have been between lockdowns now I think of it but some medical type places that were closed in first lockdown are keeping open now they have Covid precautions in place.

My ordinary eye test (2yrs) was well overdue and I went in November - but needed 2 goes at choosing frames, so had to make a separate appointment the 2nd time , you can't drop in and browse, so you need to be in the mood.

Our receptionist is very good at choosing frames for both me and my wife and knows our budget so goes for the frames she has in the draws not the expensive ones on show!
