Okay so i'm going back to basics. Wiping the slate clean, and all that.

My previous good control has been thrown way off with the progesterone tablets I've been on, which is massively frustrating (and a whole other story). My A1Cs were always in the low 6s, and my last two were 7.4, then 7.7. Suffice to say i'm neither happy about it, nor feeling great. Background retinopathy has kicked in, in one eye, and the beginning macular degeneration in the other. Oh and my thyroid is on it's way out too. Grrrrrr.

Progesterone tablets were stopped a couple of months ago, in order to get my diabetes back under control, but 'good control' has remained somewhat elusive, which has left me super frustrated. So I'm going back to the very beginning.

Basal testing has begun, then carb ratio will be figured out for each meal time. Then with a little hard work & 'pin cushioning', i'll be back down in the 6s by my next Endo appointment in October. I WILL have it nailed by then!

To start me off I've made a little diary (thought i'd share a pic). It always works better for me if I see the numbers in black and white.

New mantra: Keep Calm its only Diabetes

Wish me luck peeps! Here goes...
Caroline.

Wishing you every success in getting back to good numbers Caroline 🙂 Love the diary! :D

Good luck Caroline, you CAN do it!

Isn't it odd how drugs can affect us so differently. I've been on a close pharmaceutical cousin of progesterone for years without any effect on BG.

Thanks guys!! :D I'm determined. And hanging around here always helps ? you guys are an inspiration.

(Leelee - lucky you! My insulin resistance is massive when i'm on those pesky tablets)

Good luck Caroline, you sound pretty determined! 🙂

Good luck!

Hope you find the right collection of numbers to keep you steady for a while. Sometimes the difference between a week of really good results and a week of high-low bouncing can be a frustratingly small tweak.

Like the 'keep calm' sentiment 🙂

Keep at it!
