Back from a 2 week trip to Orlando. Had a great time.

First trip away with my pump. Got swabbed and patted down going through security in UK and USA, however, it wasn't a hassle, they were really nice about it.

Hypoed a bit on the first & second day probably due to the heat, as I'm pumping I changed the rates quickly and adapted very well. Also went low after having a swim.

Put on 1lb though 😱

One downside, was the airplane food. I don't get a diabetic meal, but on way home the breakfast offering was a muffin, a cereal bar and orange juice. So I passed on all of that.

Not liking the current weather here though 😱

Welcome home Chips, I'm impressed you only put on a pound :D

Glad to hear you had a great holiday (and what's a lb between friends?!!) 🙂

I have to say we wouldn't have turned down the breakfast, just bolused more insulin for it! In fact when we flew to Italy back in July, my son had a big breakfast in the airport terminal (cereal, full English and toast), then an hour later boarded the plane and had a pot of muesli and yoghurt, a muffin, orange juice (tiny little tub) and a small Danish pastry. BGs were great despite all! He's a skinny 12 year old though!

Thanks everyone.

You're right I could have bolused for the breakfast, but tbh I just didn't like the look of it. I would have liked cereal and milk though :D

1lb

Chips hun a pound is not worth worrying about- you had a fab time !

Agree 1lb - is that all on holiday to the States! You did well.

Pleased it all went well with the pump too 🙂

I'm surprised it was only 1lb. Mind you I was only eating 2 meals a day, most days. I did have some treats like milkshakes and a root beer float! :D

Thanks all.

Glad to hear that you had a great time🙂
