Hello, I was here when first diagnosed but that was a previous email address ago so I can't get back on that. Had some scares early in lockdown (very rapid pulse, sweats feeling nauseous), that I think were down to high sugar levels. In fact the readings I took were horribly high, I started making records and couldn't make sense of the results. Then I looked and the test strips were 2 years out of date!! I don't get strips prescribed and was given some by my mother that were my deceased uncles!
I think the scares were too many carbs and inactivity (from lockdown) not working them off. Anyway nothing bad a few weeks as im trying to be healthier, but really wasn't to get in touch with docs to get them strips!

So did you buy yourself one of the meters and strips the forum suggests, where the strips are available to purchase (all online) at a reasonable price?

Welcome back @Gappy!

Sorry to hear you've had a few lockdown wobbles!

You aren’t alone... lockdown seems to have gone one of two ways for many people. It has been an opportunity to reset and really focus on their diabetes to some, and for others the change of routine, and temptation to snack have been really hard.

Welcome back @Gappy

I think the Lockdown has had an impact on everyone in some way.
It sounds as if you are able to get your test strips on prescription so the testing can certainly help with making decisions about changes to diet and levels of activity.

Thanks, I'll be trying to get strips from the docs. In the meantime the scares- well they scared me! So I'm being strict again, lost some weight so at least I can prove if I can measure it I can improve it!
