can some one tell me if lm not eatting enouth this morning at work l had a tuna sandwich at lunch time l had a meat pie by 5aclock lm starving lm t2 may be lm not eatting well?

Hi Rosie, it's more likely to be the type of food rather than the quantity. Everyone is different, and what suits one may not be good for another. Have you seen a dietician?

I can tell you what works for me - I've posted most of it in the Weight Loss Group section of this forum. Feel free to send me a private message if you want more info (it would probably bore everybody else, I've been banging on for a while!).

eggs

hi leelee l find if l eat boiled eggs or meat lm less hungry

Yes, a protein based meal keeps you feeling fuller for longer, even though the volume of food is a lot lower.

One thing i have taken from this site that helped me is, too much protein aint that good, and it kept my bg up later.
I now have a small amount of mash but boil broc and cauli, then mash them with potato, it bulks out the meal and is better for you.
Eating to little and feeling like your starving may not help as most people will just start over eating again (not saying you did).
Also, have checked your bg, as hypo's make me feel very hungry.

I reckon there's something in the theory that type 2's are type 2's because they have increased hunger levels. I've been hungry for 46 years and it's only since being finally diagnosed that I've really woken up to how different foods affect me in various ways, with a lot of help from the excellent advice given on this forum.

For me its high protein, low(ish) carbohydrates, natural fats and as much spinach/cabbage/green beans that I can fit in my tiny gob which seems to give me stable BS, stable moods and less hunger pangs.

In the bad old days I would buy a couple scotch eggs and demolish them when I was hungry while shopping. Now I might buy a couple of scotch eggs but throw away the outside and just eat the egg. Less calories but just as filling.

LOL Megga, very slow release is what a lot of T2s actually need - whereas for us T1's we don't - cos it doesn't match the action of the insulin we're injecting.

Rosie is T2.

Can't add to advice execpt to say it has been pretty cold recently too, that will have an effect on our appetitites.
