Average over 90 days

My average over the last three months has been 7.34. Does anyone know how this would be for HbA1c. My last Hb was 7.4 do you think I will have gone down. I have been trying so hard!

According to the converter here, it converts to an HbA1c of 6.6%, so I hope it is correct! 🙂

There are a number of conversion formulas - here's another one:

HbA1c = (eAG + 2.59)/1.59​

where eAG = Estimated average glucose.

A quick calc gives yours as 6.25%

My last hba1c was 6.2% but looking at my computer results, the last 90 days average was 6.3 which would make my hba1c a good bit lower. Someone told me that the fasting lab tests tend to be a bit higher. Why is this?

It could be the difference between meter reading whole blood and the lab testing plasma..

But in the main your meter is only ever going to be a very rough guide, because it's testing a moment in time, so it would very much depend on how often you test and what happens between one test and another.. Spikes, lows that aren't picked up..

And then you get the variations with meters.. One can read slightly higher or lower..

Saying that I do always stick to one meter, and over a period of time I do check out how near my meter 90 adv is to my HbA1c so that it gives me a guide to what I can expect..

My meter/control for my pump I've had since January but haven't had a HbA1c yet to compare it too, but have compared the BG meter against my old one, this meter gives a slightly high BG than my old nano so hopefully this has helped to drive my HbA1c down a little bit more

I am working from the HbA1c = Avg BG +2.52/1.583

not much of a difference though....

I do it by keeping my results in a spreadsheet and doing the average myself. That seemed the easiest way for me when I was first Dx'd and my head wasn't on straight. It's worked so I've kept on doing it.

Yes I do! Its a bit confusing though. I will have a look at it later and see if I can work it out. I'm sure my old meter used to give me the 7 day and month averages etc on the meter screen.

Open Copilot, then View Report, click on Reports, then Glucose Average, finally chose the 'from / to' dates.
