My daughter in law over here in Melbourne where I am spending 6 weeks over Christmas and New Year introduced me to Lindt sugar free chocolate, both Milk and Dark. It's really good.
She also introduced me to a new sweetener, Monk Fruit sweetener. Not as bitter as Stevia.

The "sugar-free" Lindt uses malitol as the sweetener. The impact of this on BG seems to vary a lot from person to person, depending on how quickly it gets absorbed, but generally it has some impact though less than table sugar.

Personally: I think it's pretty digusting, in terms of after-taste and intestinal effects, but YMMV.

Actually I think you are right about that. It tastes OK but it did upset my tummy some. I only had 2 squares yesterday and today. But thats twice the symptoms came within 30 mins. My BG seems on low side....mind you nothing has spiked it yet since diagnosis 19th October this year! I am beginning to think they misdiagnosed me. I had an infection at the time and was on an antibiotic type both of which are known to send your BG sky high.
