Wow Aussies are really spoiled for choice almost everything you could want comes in low carb low sugar or sugar free options! And often in one store. Found they have 2 brands here Noshu and Atkins who do their equivalent of popular chocolate bars and cakes. So my favourite Aussie bar Cherry Ripe a sort of Cherry bounty bar or similar to a raspberry ruffle ( bit more coconut as ours are more icing sugar these days), has now been produced in an 85% less sugar version and you know, its nicer than the original. Not quite as sweet but sweet enough for me. I love my chocolate, but hate overly sweet things. So am well pleased. Now I need to persuade second son to emigrate so that I can come on parent visa! I am managing well on metformin only excellent BGs but think Christmas Eve , Day and Boxing Day I will add in half the dosage of glicazide and monitor carefully. We are out to dinner Christmas Eve.

Go easy on those artificial sweetners as once overdid eating similar food, results was I could shite through eye of a needle at 50 paces,

Oh dear! So far so good. I took half l glicozide today and yesterday, Finishing BG last might was 8.4. Tonight after big dinner and trifle and a few chocs 6.2mm. I did not go overboard as whatever we ate out with ON christmas eve gave me an upset tummy and a horiffic migraine and I spent the night awake with both falling asleep at 5am for 2 hrs before the kids woke up. So I have napped on and off but could not really eat many chocs. I bought an small expensive box of Koko Black which is a bit like Hotel Chocolat in the UK. Not so sweet as many chocolates and chocs are smaller than theirs.BUt a few of those was enough for my 'fix' especially as I mostly opt for the dark chocs. Lots of left over food for bubble and squeak. They roast pumpkin for hours here great chunks of it and I prefer it to potato!
