I had a call today and great news, the Diabetes Consultant will see me next week 🙂 BTW. The wait is a very long.

I am not being disrespect with the DN, who is very helpful, but she is limited on what she can do.

I am going to discuss some of my history and current situation, plus will be asking for a test on how well my pancreas is working and if possible a fat on liver test.

Just wondering if anyone else had these tests or any other test via the Consultant or DN, which would could very useful bar the usual hba1c and urine tests.

Thank you.

Unless there is suspicion that there is something else going on because diet and or medication are not being as successful as they should be then somebody who is Type 2 would not be referred to either a Consultant or dietician.
I hope you get your hoped for outcome from your appointment.

It was me who requested to see the Consultant and as previously mentioned the specialist Diabetes Service, do not want to go near me as I am not on Insulin! It is my poor GP who is out of her depth and she keeps making the referral and everytime I go, they finish off by saying I do not need to come back to them and my case is closed.

I am super keen on finding out more about my body and need particular test. I know (like my parents) I will eventually need to go on Insulin for life.
