Today I decided to take the plunge and have some ACV before my lunch. Do any of you lovely people take it, and does it help with weight loss?

Shame to turn decent cider into vinegar.

re losing weight though - nowt helps more than eating less and moving more.

Yes I use it and it has had no effect on my weight either positive or negative.

Couldn't agree more @trophywench Burn more calories than you eat and you'll loose weight. Conversely Eat more calories than you burn and the reverse is true

I think the last time this came up @rebrascora mentioned that they occasionally took ACV, but for BG rather than weight.

We use it in cooking - but not in large quantities, and no difference noticed.

Yes, I use a splash of ACV with "the mother", in my glass of water first thing on a morning. It gives the water flavour and is believed to have health benefits including on BG levels.... will know more on that score when I get my HbA1c result tomorrow.....although many more factors involved in that than just ACV. It also makes my cup of coffee with cream afterwards taste even more yummy.
Not sure it will aid weight loss to any significant extent but cutting down on your carbohydrate intake should do that and will also have a much greater impact on reducing your BG levels, so that is what I would recommend. By all means try ACV in water or as a salad dressing but there are no silver bullets or miracle cures.
For me learning to eat low carb has been a revelation in respect of dietary control. Once you cut down on those carbs enough and eat a bit more fat you just don't feel hungry anymore.... Very rarely do I get cravings and 2 meals a day is easily enough. Add in a bit of extra activity like a brisk daily walk if you can and the weight will start to shift.
