What the heck do they call that drink in Spain - cold chocolate milkshake that comes in small bottles, poured over a good old freehand measure of Cent y Tres ? Ab Fab - but not tried it ever since 1972 as I bet the milkshake is full of azucar! (Oh you've started me now - thick breakfast choc with delicious vanilla sugar-coated churros to dip in it .....)
I don't know what it's called but it sounds fab. As a child on holiday chocolate milk was my favourite drink, never having been a fan of fizzy drinks. I'm with you on the churros as well!

Almond milk is good, it tastes a bit nutty and the fat from the almond makes it feel creamy, it also has a nice nutritional profile so adds a bit of extra oomph in the mineral department (although cows milk is good anyway). I make milkshakes in summer with almond milk, the insides of a vanilla pod (seeds Catherine, that the word you're looking for doh!), frozen Greek yoghurt, cocoa or raw chocolate powder and a drizzle of maple syrup...delicious :D It heats well too because it had a very high water content. That said an options made with 3/4 water and 1/4 cream is much creamier than milk, so that would probably do the trick.
