Anyone here have a C-peptide test before getting their pump?

I ask because I've just seen on another board that a US insurance company was asking someone when their last c-peptide test was before they would allow prescription of pump or supplies. Why might this be? Wuoldn't they give a pump to someone still producing a small amount of their own insulin? (Like me, I suspect)
 
I did but for an entirely different reason, nothing to do with the pump.
It came back negative.

Its all to do with levels of insurance over there isn't it.

Jessica had one a few years ago. They wanted to know if her bit of pancreas was still working. Unfortunately it was sporadically when glucose is given especially so when treating a hypo the pancreas wakes up and produces insulin !😡
 
Nope - never even heard of it! But have now! Forever learning...🙂
