Had my 2nd AZ yesterday, and woke to a higher BG than usual this morning, after a disturbed night where I wasn't exactly feverish, but generally achey and uncomfortable. So on the strength of that I whacked in an extra 2 units of Levemir this morning (7 instead of 5) and have been keeping boluses as normal, and I seem to be holding steady.
We’ll see what happens tonight, I’m always loth to take extra basal at night, because I have a habit of dipping around 4am (and as luck would have it, I’ve got a telephone diabetic review next week to discuss my first few months on the Libre, and one of the reasons for getting it on prescription was my overnight dips into the red!)

Had my first (T2)(az) and my sugars are all over the shop some high in the 12/14 then dops to 5 sometimes in a matter of hours i averaged out at 7 last week but since the jab well its gone to pot as I'm not eating/exercising differently I can only suspect the jab.

Levels seem to be back to normal today, and I've put my basal back down. After the first dose, I kept the increase for a couple of weeks.

Mine went up a bit both times. Has been heading downwards this week though. Typical diabetes - never can make up its mind!

Just catching up with this. My levels spiked after first jab and I have had to increase basal and boluses significantly. I had put it down to stress though as I am going through a really tough time.

2nd jab this morning and steady fall in levels...watch this space. Just ate some Caramac to cheer myself up and ward off a blooming hypo.

Doh! I was getting excited about my theory :D There might still be an increased possibility though.

Interestingly, I’ve disproven my own theory about AZ high bg/Pfizer low bg :D I had my second Pfizer jab last week and have been fighting highs ever since. (After the first I was fighting lows).

So, my new theory is....it’s all a bit random like a lot with diabetes!

I was expecting a rise after my first jab and my blood sugars went down so which was worse because I preempted the high.
Yesterday, I had my second jab and decided to expect anything and preempt nothing.
Blood sugars went down again. I am currently n 60% of my usual basal and holding steady... ish.

So, how about this as a theory (based on a huge sample of 1) - whatever happens for your first jab is likely to be repeated for your second.

Or the complete opposite will happen :D I was all ready to be low again, and now I’ve had to increase my basal and it’s still not enough.

Not pre-empting is definitely the best policy, I think. The excitement of diabetes never ends :D

Got second jab this Friday, hoping for 2 things, no difference in bg as before but no side effects this time.

With second vaccine wife felt cold thru night with chattering teeth, could hear them.
