Sunday night stayed steady i.e. went to bed at 9pm at 12.1 and woke up at 6am at 13.7

Monday evening stayed around 6/7 all evening and had near enough the same carbs as the night before for dinner - but wow the blood sugars did not stay the same as the night progressed

9pm 6.0
9.45 checked when OH ame to bed to make sure that I wasn't going lower 6.0
1pm woke up feeling extremely trembly 5.7
3pm 9.7
6pm 15.8

Any thoughts? Could it have been a possible hypo before 1pm but if so how can I check this? If it was an untreated hypo why would it go up so much? If it wasn't a hypo why did my BGs go up so much between 1pm and 6pm when they had stayed relatively stable the night before? My DSN isn't back until Thursday - I could try another DSN but didn't know if this would confuse things

Ah the ole chestnut about hypo rebounds overnight and do they or don't they happen. I am fairly sure I've seen them in myself, but people I know who think the same and then get a CGM say they never see it happen.

When my liver is kicking off I can seem to see just such a big rise though. Just doesn't know when to stop!!

Thanks Mike. Ant thoughts as to why my liver might have kicked out? I'm living life at the moment like it groundhog day to try and get some BG stability

I've found my son's levels are more likely to rise overnight if he has a disturbed night (I don't wake him when I test his BG in the night, unless he is hypo or needs an injection, but if he is woken by a nightmare, or by disturbance from our kitten, this can have an effect - stress hormones I reckon!

What action did you take when you were 5.7? Did you turn the basal down even lower or eat something or just leave it?

Hi Redkite I left it at 5.7 and didn't change anything at all. I wasn't sure whether I should. Until I woke up trembling I had been sleeping well.

Would the trembling have been a stress/adrenaline response do you think? Whatever triggered it (genuine or fake hypo?) i guess it could have kicked your liver into gear?

Hi Mike that would make sense because I'm obviously stressed about my levels. I've just never had this happen before...when I got the 5.7 I thought lovely I will have a decent level in the morning.

That really would make total sense - plus your body is terribly confused at the moment and doesn't know whether it's coming or going, and because the liver has had to work so hard recently because of all the lows, it's probably on a hair trigger right now.

Thanks Jenny I guess then that I assume it was an abnormal result and that I check what happens over the next few nights to see if a pattern emerges
