Hi everybody, just wondering if anybody knows of any doctor or endocrinologist in England North west to teat kids with DT1 following Dr bernstein diabetes solution protocol?
I appreciate any answers.

Thanks and best wishes for everybody.

I’m not aware of any. I think there is some clinical evidence that very low carbohydrate diets are not suitable for children.

There seems to be much wider acceptance of low carb approaches to adults with T2 (eg Dr Unwin a GP), and there are a number of T1 adults who find low carb helpful for their BG management, but nutritionally it seems unsuited to children during growth and development.

Thanks for your reply, that's why I am looking for a doctor who follows Dr bernstein because:
1.he doesn't believe that the high carbohydrate diet do any good for children,
2. As he stating in his teachings that there isn't any study Confirms that carbohydrate is essential for human...just the minimum amount of vegetables to get vitamins and minerals from the diet.
3 there is a group of thousands of children following his protocol without any problems of growing and having normal A1c of non-diabetics...

Thank again for your answer.

Well you appear to know more about it than we do, then.

Thing that bothers me is as we need insulin in order to breath in and out etc, let alone to deal with food - how the hell is it possible to treat Type 1 diabetes without insulin? or are you saying with the insulin and a nil carbs diet, the kids have 'non diabetic' HbA1c test results?

It was my belief that the Dr Bernstein diet was applicable to Type 2, not Type 1?

Low carbs? Any advice for this should be given by professionals. Everyone is different. Our bodies have different needs. If anyone is worried about diet they should speak to their GP or their diabetes team

Hi, dr richard bernstein protocol, (which detailed in his book dr bernstein's diabetes solution book) is for any tipe of diabetes, nobody says treating diabetics without insulin, this is a nonsense. And dr bernstein protocol is essentially a low carb high protein diet. Low carb not nil carb. And my question is if you know any practice in uk treating diabetics with approach?

Thanks.

No I don't, nor anywhere else in the world since I've only lived in the UK.
