Have they tried you on Byetta yet? I can't recall. There are other drugs that might help with the nausea, but I feel that you should have seen some change by now if Victoza was going to work for you. Remind them of your reaction to Glicazide and ask about other options such as Sitagliptin/Byetta/Bydureon.

Don't despair, there are still plenty of options out there.

You can refuse it, tell them you prefer to try other options first rather than take something you already know is going to make you extremely ill. Is it the GP or the DSN you're dealing with by the way? It's not McRory is it?

I'm doing OK, numbers are great but still having tests to establish what else is going on. The latest theory seems to be some sort of thyroid problem. We shall see.

Hi it's the senior male DSN I saw today... Glad your doing ok 🙂

Well, in that case, if the DSN insists on Glicazide you can ask to talk to the consultant about it. I'd say Dr Bal or Dr Harvey as they do listen, explain why you're reluctant and ask them to suggest a different alternative. I can see no earthly reason why you should accept something you know will make you ill when there are alternatives that might work without all the horrid side effects. Getting your numbers under control is important but, so is quality of life, they need to help you find a happy medium if at all possible. Stand your ground girl.

If a med upsets you, there is no point in taking it. I had terrible problems with metformin and Byetta. However, I still take four gliclazide a day with no bad effects. No all things suit everybody. So do ask for an alternative.
