Hi. I have been diagnosed for nearly 30 years but only found out 6 years ago that i had Mody HNF1A after my son was diagnosed. My daughter and grandaughter also have the gene.
I decided to join because like many others i have been feeling anxious because of the coronavirus.
In "normal" times i am quite optimistic about my diabetes and by following a fairly low carb diet and taking gliclazide i seem to do ok.
I also work in a diabetes team within the NHS. A colleague may have coronavirus and i have been in close contact so that has heightened my anxiety.
I'm aware that nobody can really give advice as such on the coronavirus situation but its nice to be amongst you all at this time (virtually speaking of course!!)

Thanks x

Welcom.
You are a relative small group with any type of Mody. Many have not heard of Mody.

Hi and Welcome @Rudy - nice to have you here.

Its great you are handling your diabetes well. Sounds like you are doing good! Im sure your great wealth of knowledge and experience on your particular condition will be of great assistance to those who are using the forum or new to the disease, who are in a similar situation. Enjoy your time with us. 🙂

Welcome @Rudy 🙂 I agree - it’s great to have people who understand here on this forum. I’m a recent joiner too and everyone is very friendly.

Yes, this is a very anxious time. I try to keep busy and approach things logically. Looking after your health, as you’re doing, can only help 🙂

Welcome to the forum @Rudy 🙂 you have just joined our virtual family, take care.

Hello and welcome to the forum @Rudy 🙂

Should you be self-isolating if you've been near somebody with the virus? I wish they had a test for this thing so we knew where we stood!

Welcome to the forum @Rudy

Nice to have another MODY here.

Hope the next few days pass ‘symptom free’ for you. must be an anxious time, and a stressful work environment

Hi @Ditto .
I am working from home at the moment. I haven't been out since last Wednesday. I wish that we could get tested so that we would know for sure and maybe ease anxiety if the result was negative. I know all the issues around this though, so for now i am sitting tight!
Thank you for my welcome
