Well apparently Professor Von Arnim is able to cure type 1.

This is the treatment summary.

This is the blog

and this is a comment on one of the blog posts:

We really need to make sure that these false claims on the internet about Prof von Arnim are drowned. I am a medical doctor myself and have worked at the famous Bangkok Private Medical Centre, which is visited by patients from all over the world. Prof von Arnim is no conman and never was. He is one of the foremost experts on Type-1 Diabetes. My daughter went through the trail and was cured.
Just because people do not want to believe it doesn?t change the fact that it happened.
Diabetes is the biggest profit earner in the world. It earns the shakers and movers more money than the oil industry.
If we as patients or relatives of patients refuse to accept that Diabetes is curable like any other disease then the industry has done a good job in brain-washing us.
Well, I did it for my daughter and would do it any time again. In fact, I would walk barefoot across the Antarctic if that were required to get my daughter into the trial.

There is a Doctor on twitter claiming to be cured by it. Dr P. A. Charles @EberhardFreiher and if you want to read the tweets by the person with the cure, see Prof U. von Arnim @DiabetesCurable

My goodness, that is such a con. eek:
I wonder what the University of Manchester would have to say about their apparent involvment in the clinical trials?
I noticed that he'd taken note of Denise Faustmans research on BCG vaccines but seems to have changed her gender!.

There's been quite a bit recently in the medical news about using BCG (tuberculosis vaccine) to prevent/reverse Type 1 diabetes, but the trials are at Phase 1 in mice, not Phase IV as indicated here! I wonder if it's a bit like the stem cell cures you can get that are based on the outside possibility that they might work for humans and you can find out by going to a clinic in China?

I don't really buy into this idea that Big Pharma are concealing The Cure (not the band) because it makes them too much money - there are plenty of independent agencies working outside of Pharma-funded projects. Any proposed cure that implies such a thing I am instantly suspicious of.

A while back I read a book by a so-called doctor who claimed to have discovered some weird property of cells that had been overlooked by the world's scientists for well over a century and never reproduced. This weird property cured diabetes - 1 and 2. My review of said book is here:

One of these days one of these mad scientists is going to be right.

How unbelievable was it when they discovered AB's cured the bug that gives people stomach ulcers?

Alan I never bought into the Conspiracy Theory on any subject. I do now - Ancel Keys.

Mmmm, as someone with a genetic disposition to stomach ulcers then although the bug was found and anti biotics treated it, I still get ulcers!!!

So maybe some 'cure' can be claimed for diabetes but without meaning it is totally eradicated.

Having had a gastric ulcer myself, when I was diagnosed I was given the Helicobacter pylori test but it was negative, so I am one of the few people whose ulcer was not caused by the Helicobacter pylori bacteria and thus I was unable to be treated with anti-biotics, and spent more that a year on other meds to heal it.

Just wish they would give it a rest, they seem to portray diabetes as a simple condition to cure when in fact nothing could be further from the truth.

When the results are peer reviewed in the medical journals and the results can be repested consistently elsewhere, I'll believe. Until then, colour me skeptical.

I'm not a docotor, so have an ordinary persons understanding of how the body work. The skeptic in me says the only way to cure type 1 (or even type 2, even thoe I know there is a difference) is to transplant a new pancreas and then take a whole host of anti rejection drugs
