My brother (Type 1) has had very red patches either side of his nose and blood shot eyes for a few months so went to a locum gp who said it was caused by simvastatin and took him off them to see what happened. Whilst off the statins the red patches almost disappeared, eyes didn't reduce as much but there was a little improvement. When he went back to gp his regular gp had returned and said it was nothing to do with simvastatin and has now put him back on them. Brother is not happy about this but doesn't want to argue with gp. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with anything like this?
