Just had an email from my dentist to say I can now book my check-up (it was due in May). Two weeks ago my optician wrote to me to say eye tests were back on (had one a couple of weeks ago, originally having been due in February).

What next? My overdue eye screening? DN review and foot check?

My optician is also open. Will be making an appointment next week. Am only behind on the dentist. Appointment cancelled in April.

Yeah I need my eyes re-tested so need to get to that, but we're both well overdue for routine dental checks which there's no sign of being available any time soon.

I had a text following lockdown for my check up was due , just ignored. Dentist still not open for routine care yet.
Heard the advert on radio for dental implants starting again soon on way to and from Chiropractor's earlier in the week.

I must book an eye test in too.

My screening was done in Jan, but I was supposed to get new driving glasses around... um... March time 🙄 :D

If things are back to normal then God help us is all I can say.

Had bloods done as an emergency, results not good so told to make an apt to speak to the GP, the soonest they could offer was the 5th of September. Needless to say I asked for the undertakers telephone number and told the receptionist not to bother with the apt. 😡

Sorry to hear this Sue

Hope you can get some sort of appointment/cancellation in the meantime :(

Daughter was due an eye test in the spring, tried to book one just before we went into lockdown but of course it was cancelled. Finally got round to rebooking it this month, had to drive 8 miles into the nearest city though because our local branch doesn’t seem to be open every day and didn’t have any available appointments until September! At least we’ve got it done now though, and hopefully the new glasses can be collected from the local branch (although me being the eternal pessimist is sort of expecting something to go wrong with that arrangement...) . She was also due for retinopathy test in July but we had a letter saying that as last year's test didn't show any problems the next one has been postponed until at least next May! We aren’t due for dentist yet, I think hubby was but it got cancelled, luckily he doesn’t have any problems. We also have a rabbit who is due for myxomatosis booster and I don’t know if the vet is open for routine appointments yet, that's the next thing I've got to find out!

Actually the drive was quite refreshing, that's the first time I've been out of my town since lockdown and it was almost exciting to be able to go somewhere else and see a bit of the wider world again, even if we were only visiting an optician LOL :D

Oh I rang the following morning and spoke to another receptionist who then spoke to her line manager, who ever so kindly decreed that I could have an apt this Weds. GP will ring anytime up to 10.30 AM.

I need eyes and my teeth looking at. I didn’t get round to finding us a new dentist when we moved. That’s going to be a drama!

I hope that you can get this sorted Phoebe

Phew! Hope it is a useful one 🙂

I had my eyes checked a week ago Friday, picked up my glasses on Friday. Got to say, Specsavers were incredibly efficient and ruthless about masks, point blank refused entry to someone ‘exercising their rights’, and had a manned sanitation station placed across the entryway so it was unavoidable. Really very reassuring.

Less reassuring is the fact that I’m now looking at January for a possible in person respiratory appointment, which will mean my last Spirometry tests will have been 16 months previously, as they cancelled my last two before lockdown.

Just had my hair done, my mobile Hairdresser of over 30 years. Did it a different way to normal. Everything done downstairs, window and door open, and madked up.

still no sign of OP opening, got a stack of outstanding OP stuff waiting to be dealt with also waiting for blood work and a monitor to be fitted.

When my hairdresser came it was decent weather so she cut my hair in the garden, still gowned up and wearing a shield. The relief of that cut was amazing.

I havent thought about the dentist yet... but I think ours is open again

I wore a plastic disposable gown. It was raining here today.

I have now deleted a post on this thread I didn't actually post cos it was on the wrong thread, no less than 4 times, so am posting this rubbish to replace it and get rid of the ruddy thing.
