I have got the impression that **** really does happen.

I mean, I gave up the fags, lost weight, walk for England, have cut out lots of carbs and other naughty things (e.g. salt and fat) my dammed resistance is still increasing.

I really think I should see how many days I can live on just plain tap water until I get a sensible reading.

I am seriously having thoughts about trying to buy some Byetta online if I can't get a prescriotion for it.

It certainly doesn't seem fair Tez - you have always, for as long as I've known you, done your absolute best to manage your diabetes well. But do bear in mind that if you hadn't done what you have you would almost certainly be in a much worse situation today. Not much in the way of consolation, I know. I hope that the doctor is able to find a good solution for you that doesn't cause you problems with your job.

Sorry to hear that Tez. Must be wretched to work so hard and not see the results you are after.

Keep at it though - as Alan says all your hard work will still be having an effect. Is there another doc/clinic you could ask about meds options?

And of course having given up the fags you've got several more years to suffer the diabetes than you would have had otherwise:D

Tez

Looking at your photo and your sig, I ponder if you'll a T1.5 er and not T2, has your clinic ruled this out for you, I think it may be worth while asking for a c-peptide test or GAD test, to check out what type of diabetic you really are..

As if you are slow on set T1'er would explain why you doing all the right things but it's still creeping up

Hope things improve for you soon Tez 🙂

Hi Tez.

At risk of getting shouted at, have you tried cutting out booze ?

And maybe upping the exercise from walking to joining a gym or taking up some sport or other ?

Just trying to throw some suggestions into the pot.

Hi Tez,
sorry things are not going to plan for you. I agree with Ellie re the extra testing.
Perhaps also you could list a typical days food intake so others can make suggestions as to what can be changed if it can.

Thanks everyone. You are all real stars.

I don't drink that often. The avatar pic was taken at an infrequent visit to the pub. (After Brighton won I think)

Regarding food, I rarely have anything with starchy carbs now. One or two small potatoes with a low carb meal sometimes.

Breakfast was 20g of real porridge oats and hot water in the ding.

Todays dinner was Cheese and ham omelette and green salad.

Tonight I am having two grilled chicken breasts with lemon and a bit of sliced tomato with plain salad.

Tomorrow I've bought some rump steak to go with my salad. Dressing lemon juice.

In the other thread I said my doc wants a food / BG diary for the next three months and another HbA1c.
