Hi everyone. Just been diagnosed with type 2, with reading of 63. I'm aged 67. Always had a very sweet tooth which is obviously going to have to change! Luckily I'm a lover of cheese, omelettes, nuts, fish.
Already read a few posts on this forum, which I have found very helpful, informative, & reassuring. Thanks to all you longstanding members posting this very welcome advice.

Hi Cap67, welcome to the forum.

Glad that you've found us and hope that you can get the support you need.

It's always tricky when you've got a sweet tooth but it's great to hear that you're already thinking of alternative ways to enjoy food.

As you've found, we've got lots of helpful info on the site so feel free to ask any questions you may have and we'll do our best to help.

Hi and welcomefrom me too.

I was a sugar addict and bread and potato lover pre diagnosis, but that has all changed and I find pleasure in other foods now..... cheese is my new chocolate and olives and nuts and my guilty pleasure.... pork scratchings 🙄 . It takes a bit of readjusting but it certainly is possible to overcome a sweet tooth.
Let us know if you need help with anything?

Thanks again everyone....alot to learn for a Newby, but feeling much more positive after joining this forum.
Did food shop today...so difficult missing chocolate/biscuit aisle....but doubled up on the cheese...
...& thanks for your reply Barbara...but not sure about the pork scratchings!...
