I'm going for my 6-monthly review tomorrow so will get my HbA1c. It was 5.5% last time, but I expect it will have gone up this time. Since I got hit by the cyclist, plus with the operation, I haven't been able to do much running over the past month and my day-to-day levels have been higher than usual. I might even end up out of the 5% club 😱 😉

Any guesses? A virtual narcoleptic stargoat goes to the closest! :D

I think it will be a little higher but still very good so my guess is 6.1🙂

5.9Still in the 5 club, just..

Hopefully only as high as 5.8%

.......5.7

5.5% - just because the d-fairy might want to play with you 😉

I'll go for 5.4

Thanks for your faith folks, but I don't think I'll be handing out any virtual narcoleptic stargoats! 😱

I thnk you'll still be in the 5 club, I'm going to share 5.8 with MargB 🙂

well i reckon you be the 5.5 ....🙂 mine soon ...eek 😱

I really doubt it. Bear in mind that I haven't had any lantus since the last one, which does mean I wake generally higher in the mornings (but mostly within range). I'm expecting something like 6.2%.

I win! It was 6.2%, so I award myself the Stargoat 🙂 A bit disappointing (for me) to be out of the 5% club for the first time in 4 years, but I have a fairly good feel for why it is, and the consultant thought it was fine - he said it was the best one he would see all day. Total Chol was up too - to 5.6, but he didn't try to push me back onto statins. Again, I think it's because I haven't been able to do much running in the month leading up to the test so I'm not worried about it. One thing he did say was that sometimes an underactive thyroid can cause cholesterol to increase, which I didn't know - he said I didn't appear to have a problem with mine though but suggested I might get it tested.

He was intrigued by the fact that I have given up taking the lantus and we went over my diagnosis again. He concluded that I must be Type 1 because of the circumstances and is going to have a look at my notes again. 🙂

I demand a recount! Fix Fix Fix :D

As you say though, you understand why and I'm sure you'll be back in the 5% club before too long!

You are not allowed to enter the competition when you've set the competition. Those are the rules. Which I believe makes ME the winner:D. Sorry that you're no longer in the 5 clubs but good that you know the reasons.

I predicted a 6.2% for me! It must have been some form of accidental thought transfer.

Disappointing for you I know, but it's still well within the 6.5. Barring any other dodgy cyclists you'll be back in the 5's in no time.

Andy 🙂

Most would love that Hba1C so don't be too hard on yourself, you'll get it back down.

...still a great number Alan. 🙂
