im confused. Nothing lowers your chances than not using glucose lowering drugs .
Are you saying just doing low carb no meds is best ?

Diabetes are a million diseases so for every individual it could be different, but in general I suspect so if you include exercise as well.

This isn’t quite:

”Nothing increases your chance for remission more than not using glucose lowering drugs and this isn’t from some obscure ”

The link between lack of GLT and remission may well be due to lower hba1c at diagnosis, which increases the chances of remission.

But not by so much:

HbA1c <48 mmol/mol at diagnosis (OR 1.31)
no previous history of GLT (OR 14.6)

As you noticed the authors already started the chicken and egg discussion themselves, I very much like it you actually read the paper (almost nobody ever does). With an odds ratio that big I assume no GLT is an independent factor that decreases the risk of remission.

I just think its so complex. If you get the right type of diabetes dont have it severe dont mess up with GLM which i believe some says alters their how much insulin they
produce or is glucose intolerant.
Then as you say depends on motibility.
As in how much you can exercise etc .
Yes if fit eat the right meals I guess you might keep your body working.
Conversely i think this is hereditary and i can see you slowing down but diabetes eventually taking over. Remission to me says it can re occur. like cancer it may stay away but it can come back. So it can be argued are GLM better or not . or something all get eventually.
