As I continue to lose weight, (Yah!) I also find that my clothes no longer fit.
At my heaviest I was well over 17st and nearly a 50" chest and over a 42" waist and quite often a XXXL size!
After four weeks on the T2D pathway to remission diet, (I think I had lost about 14lb to 18lb at that time) I had a major clear out of clothes, most of my old ones going to the local charity shop, as I tend to look after my clothes. At that time I had some clothes that were previously too small for me, eg: XXL and XL, so got rid of the larger stuff and switched to the smaller stuff.
Anyway fast forward to now, on week 10 of T2D diet and still losing weight, (Yah again!) Now lost 30+lbs.
Those previously chosen smaller clothes now also no longer fit. I am now mostly a L size, a 46" chest and very close to a 36" waist, (37" but I can squeeze into 36") and just a smidge over 14st.
So another clear out, another trip to the charity shop, getting rid of mostly smart casual shirts, polo shirts, trousers, jeans, T shirts, etc
Rummaging through some old clothes storage boxes I found three shirts (new) that had never fit me, but now do, plus a couple of polo shirts that are marked as XL but seem to fit me well.
Last night I also ordered a pair of trousers, a pair of jeans, and three polo shirts to fill out my quickly shrinking wardrobe.
I've been holding off buying new clothes, as I continue to lose weight, but could not really wait any longer as I am now down to just a few clothes that fit me. So needs must and all that.
I must admit that I do find it very cathartic having a good clear out.
