Hi all,

Well am due to visit docs on Thursday afternoon for annual check up hoping all goes well.

In the meantime I was asked to visit a different doc today, I had a bit of a shock when she said my Liver function was higher than it should be, after she felt at my tum and asked me several questions about how I was feeling she said she would send me for a scan to see what was going on. She then asked me if I was on Thyroxine as my thyroid function was looking high too!!

Wonder what Diabetes doc will come up with on Thursday? Hey ho, such is life I guess.

I hope that the review goes well shirl 🙂 I always have a higher than normal liver function test/elevated bilirubin levels. My GP says it's probably something called 'Gilbert's Syndrome', which doesn't need any treatment, might be something similar for you 🙂

It's best that any strange results are followed up. It sounds like you reported some symptoms that are associated with liver problems, which is why doctor wants you to have a scan. Thyroid levels can either be too high if your thyorid is producing too much thyroxine or if you have naturally low thyroid hormone levels and are taking thyroxine tablets, but the dose is too high for you and needs to be reduced.

If your diabetes doctor doesn't mention these results, then you should draw their attention to them, so that you can work our strategy together.

Don't panic, though - odd results can be one offs. If they're not one offs, then best to get things under control as soon as possible.
 
Thanks for the replies, yeah will be having a chat with Diabetes doc no worries! Just wasn't really what I expected, thought doc wanted to see me about toe/nail infection, hehe wrong again.
