Lou,
Really sorry you have been a tad stressed...

I wouldnt leave it at this though. I would ask your DSN to write a letter to the GP explaining that as you are now on a pump - you are at more serious risk of getting DKA and witholding test strips is negligent to say the least!

You need to list all the times you test and why you test and ask the GP which ones should you miss? How on earth do these plebs think you can achieve anything like good control without the right tools?😱

Give em hell Lou:DBev

Personally I think it is absolutely terrible that you are/were still down as T2 on their system - the prescription **** up is bad enough - but being listed as a T@ instaed of a T1 could be life threatening - Rita might be nice - but any other GP's around??? - I wouldn't bloomin trust them at all if I was you! It really is awful - oooh! I am steaming up now and it's not my argument! Things like this really should be reported to a medical ombudsman in my opinion.

Its true actually, I was annoyed I have been listed as T2 for 4 years 😱

There must be another GP somewhere round here, but mine are the nearest. It was in my mind today that perhaps I should change but then there are considerations like when I broke my back and was struggling round there on crutches, Im on my own and those kind of situations it is good.

Shouldnt mean they can behave so badly though......and blame it on the PCT half the time too!

OMG been out all day just read thread...that is outragous sugar!!!!!
I am sooo lucky my doc is Brilliant ...not just me but whole for whole Fam....problem is, i understand, the time, stress and hassle it takes to complain so if you want i dont mind drafting a reply that can be used maybe as a template for complaints to gps...maybe Alison Enstein and other suitably enabled forum members could help in getting a adaptable standard letter together...share skills so to speak...what you all think???

....I am so angry I could burst into tears.

I put a prescription in on Sunday for 200 acencia test strips. On Tuesday it came back as "100 one touch ultra lancets" so my pharmacist put it in again for me. On Wednesday it was returned to me again as "100 one touch ultra lancets" and returned to the surgery.

I just went round there again today and my precription is there....ONE pot of test strips! 😡

Not only have they wasted my time, they have reduced my prescription AGAIN (this has happened before). Right before christmas!

I am so angry, I am so upset. I am waiting for the surgery to re-open at 4pm and Im going in for a fight. I hope they call the police I am NOT going until I get it put back up again.

Honestly, the amount of time we are expected to run around after these incompetant people is unbelieveable and they wont apologise for the error- mark my words.

Breath.

I feel mildly better for that.

Sorry.

EDIT: And another thing.....I had plans this afternoon to go to the gym. Gone now. FURIOUS!

wowser Lou, I don't get proper angry often and although I ain't no longer within the bounds of the smoke, I feel for you I feel I would perhaps shout at them if it happened to me!

Hope you get a proper service soon and manage to calm down.

take care, have a cider!😉🙂

What a useless bunch of cretins!! Glad you had the balls to front it out and get what you should've had in the first place (and more, lol).

xx

I honestly can't believe that the chemist has the power to say "no, you can't have that many!" and change what you get from your prescription. Surely they wouldn't do that with pills etc. Shouldn't what the doctor prescribes be what you get? Crazy!

Glad you got what you wanted in the end.

cretins!!

I really doubt that they are affected by congentital hypothyroidism, impairing mental and physical development, caused by their mothers' diet being deficient in iodine, which was relatively common in areas remote from sources of sea fish eg European Alps, Derbyshire etc. Iodine supplements in salt and other foods has largely solved the problem, leaving the word only to be used in abuse.

Ok, what a bunch of muppets...My repetoire of insults has quite a range and most shouldn't be allowed out into polite society lol. But yeah, they are a bunch of window lickers.

Gawd! Well apologies for being etymologically challenged.🙄

Tom, absolutely, what a bunch of muppets and window lickers! I shall be adopting that phrase "window lickers" from here-on in!

Yes, Copepod, I doubt they are. But lighten up!

Oh, and PS (bit late!) - Of course I don't know for SURE, but I really doubt that Sugarbum ACTUALLY has balls, JUST in case anyone was in danger of taking it literally................ 😉
