As some of you will know I was prescribed amitriptylene nearly two weeks ago by a rheumatologist because I have been struggling so much for a long time with walking due to problems with my back/hips. I was reluctant to try the amitriptylene but was encouraged by my diabetic consultant and lovely people on this forum. For a long time trips to the garden centre, shops etc have been torturous with me needing to sit down every 5-10 minutes. I was warned that it could take 5-7 weeks for the amitriptyline effects to kick in and I took the first tablet Friday night (I'm also taking cocodamol and ibuprofen).
Well today was a wowee wowee wahoo day. For the first time in a long time I had a good walk round the garden centre, Hobbycraft AND Waitrose without needing to sit down (apart from when being driven to each shop) and only some easily manageable discomfort. I feel like a new woman
Just now keeping my fingers crossed that my glaucoma consultant will be happy for me to stay on it because it can potentially aggravate the glaucoma.
I'm a very, very happy bunny 🙂
