Absolutely! After being on the sharp end of a paramedic ambulance, I am even more sure now than ever. You can add most of the public sector to that too imo. 🙂

I haven't watched it yet. My nephew is an ambulance technician and he loves his job. I couldn't do that sort of thing and admire him for doing the job that he does.

Absolutely agree Northerner. I wonder when people in the UK are going to wake up to the fact that you cannot have 1st class services and low tax. It would help if some of the big companies would pay their share of tax, of course.

Because we can't voluntarily pay more tax neither has any UK political party ever asked us if we would be willing to, though at least some of us would.

I pay less of my income in Income Tax (as a percentage I mean) now than I EVER did in the years between starting to work in1966 and 2008 when I retired.

That is ridiculous!

I wouldn't mind paying a bit more tax, so long as it was ring fenced.

Less obscene wages for the footballers et al and more money for the carer types and even the rozzers. That poor police lady who was bitten and scarred for life. :( They should have danger money.

What worries me about this program is the 'procedural way' multiple ambulances are sent out and stay around on scene (often apparently unnecessarily) when the call centres are crying out for ambulances elsewhere. I'm sure there are a long list of 'reasons' in the H&S procedures but it makes we wonder if it's a waste of vital resources?
