Am I really that stupid?

I find that huge bowls of sugar free jelly are very useful - I have a nasty cold and was feeling dismal last night, so looked out the jelly and tipped multiple sachets into the big metal bowl I use. I ate some late last night, some this morning and have just finished it off - nothing like red jelly. I make it with less water than advised, so it was good and solid - floppy jelly is not half so cheering.
When still getting used to the much smaller amounts of food required I used to make jellies several times a week - all colours, for those times they were needed - there are still high carb foods around as my husband eats them.

I make s/free jellies - half the pack makes 5 ramekins. (I water mine down a bit) I leave them in the fridge and have one when i fancy it. blackcurrant and orange are my favs at the moment YUM! 😛

Out of interest, where do you buy them? I've never even heard of sugar free jelly 🙂

I think mine came from Tesco - but they are not the only supermarket to stock them.

Funny you should say this, I opened a bag of cracker crisps yesterday evening intending to eat three or four and ended up eating the lot!

Reading two hours later before going to bed 6.3! ( I don't know why either) same reading again this morning, my waking reading is never below 7.3 so work that one out?

I get Hartleys twin pack - Sainsburys and i think i bought one lot in the Co-Op. Each sachet makes 1 pint. so far i have had raspberry, orange, blackcurrant, strawberry and a lemon and lime together (nice and refreshing mix) - i dont eat them too often because they are sweetened with aspartame, and whilst that gets a bad press, personally i think walking down the high street with all the pollution worries me more! 🙂

The answer, it appears is yes.

So I had a busy day today, lots of running around trying to sort out issues in the morning, followed by an afternoon research meeting. So I went out at lunch and had a walk to morrisons to get something. My initial plan this morning was to skip lunch and only have dinner, but I'd started feeling bored so went to morrisons for a walk as much as anything to eat.

While I was at morrisons, I bought a mini quiche and a bag of peanuts and some diet coke.

Anyway, long story short, I got home later after the meeting and scoffed the whole bag of dry roast peanuts. A full 2600 calories worth!

I mean, at this point it's like there's a deathwish and I'm just making these stupid bloody choices for no real reason.

It's not so much the calories that's an issue, I can always fast for a bit longer and ride those out. But this kind of decision making is really toxic and it felt like I'd just hit the self destruct button for no discernable reason. I find myself doing it and sometimes it's like I'm watching my own train wreck you know?

Apologies for the rant. I mean I know that we all have dark thoughts and do daft things. But I *do* know better now. At least before diagnosis I could pretend to myself that my self destructive behavior was just "normal" for me. Now I know better and I still pull this...

I guess tomorrow I'll have to do a proper fast and only eat for dinner with a light salad. Luckily I've got meetings all day (we're interviewing our potential deputy boss), so not like I can do anything stupid while I'm trapped at least.

Super frustrated with myself.
Hi zoombapup. Dont despair, a lot of us fall off the wagon from time to time so you're not alone.

These storage containers are handy to keep small portions of treats.
I keep blueberries ~ nuts + more ~ in them. I think I bought them in Asda or B&M as a pack of four. Worth getting yourself some?

I don't like sugar free jellies , I don't like the aftertaste of them.

Ok going to give some jellies a go. Put some frozen berries in them too (I like those with cream). Sounds like fun! Will see if Asda have em in somewhere.

Warning on the back of the packet, i think all flavours and in pretty feint print.......using fresh pineapple, kiwi or papaya will stop the jelly setting - be warned we dont want it all slopping down your top when you go to take a bite 😳
