Any ideas why or does it happen to you .
Sometimes when I'm hypo I have a desperate need to wee.
When it's happened, my Libre graph has shown that I was not high at anytime.
It's fun.... not, staggering to the loo the low 2s.

Sorry cannot contribute. Here have not experienced a hypo as yet

Thanks H884

In the spirit of oddness... when first prescribed Metformin, I was told not to bother about hypos, as they were not possible, and a BG meter not useful. I bought one, and made it down to 3.9 one morning.
Later prescribed Gliclazide, there were several moderate lows if I missed food around midday, and a lowest of 2.9 when I was waiting for someone who sent repeated texts saying he would be there in a few minutes.
The hypos were usually recognisable, but different depending on the degree of activity, temperature, and sometimes it felt as if I had somehow excluded sensations until there was a slow awareness of normal bodily activity. Gliclazide has now been stopped, but I still get unexpected 4s.
I am definitely amongst the "odds".😉

@the blue wildebeest .I used to tell reassure newbies on here metfartin didn't cause hypo's, I don't anymore.
Coz I now know with some people it can. I was speaking to a newcomer yesterday who had them on Metformin.

From years of experience as a nurse I can understand why you would willingly swap your hypos.

They're horrible aren't they.
I get emotional too also my temper leaves a lot to be desired at times

Between the occasional hypo which could be detected or averted and the present regular DPs, I found the hypo more amenable, as I knew what and usually why. The first was curiously like the after effects of shock, but I became more careful and aware that my mood had shifted towards irritability.
It now seems that I need to have breakfast at 4:30 to restrict the DP, and the sense of failure is greater.

I don't get emotional when I hypo (quite a lot of the time I don't even notice that I'm hypo until I test before my meal) - but I do sometimes need the loo when I'm hypo, Lin, so it's not just you! I had put it down to the facts that I often need the loo (nothing to do with diabetes or high blood sugar, it's a symptom of ME too) and that I often hypo, so just co-incidence if the two happen at the same time. But you're right, it's no fun staggering to the loo when your blood sugar's in the low 2s!

No idea why you need to wee, started getting hypos ago recently and symptoms are changing more on the lines of feeling sick and the desire to eat other things rather than my hypo treats as well as the usual hypo shakes.

I have experienced this too when too low to walk. Not fun!

I think ... it's more the effect that hypos have on your brain - same as when we're hyper - your bodily functions start to close down bit by bit. Because we all rely on our pelvic floor muscles in tandem with our bladder sphincter to stop us being urinary incontinent, if they're not getting the right signals or have turned themselves off a bit to concentrate on breathing and pumping blood etc, perhaps that's the effect you get. We are all different after all.

Are you up to date with your pelvic floor exercises and if not, get going with em. None of us is getting any younger and they are amongst the first to go, for everyone, dangnabbit!

Imo 4 30 for brekky is ok, if your an early bird but when it's to give DP the boot it's not so good plus it's a long time till lunch.

Having to get up and eat at that time is not so good.

I'm glad I'm not alone in the desperate stagger. Whether it's Hypo's or ME causing yours it's horrible.

Oh that hunger, it takes iron clad will not to feed straight from the fridge or cupboards doesn't it. TBH the last thing I want at that time is my juice or dextrose, So your not alone their.
