When I first spoke to my DSN he told me 'no you don't have to cut out what you've been eating all your life just have it in moderation meaning chocolate bars etc obviously, jeez if there was a shop near me that sold mousse's etc I'd be straight out getting one for after tea tonight but pork chop, mashed tattie with chives, peas and gravy will have to do me haha, I'm certainly going to have to stop obsessing with changing my plan if I'm above what I set out to be though as that's no way to live a life, will get some of my low carb dessert recipes put into action then that way I won't feel as bad if it was a loaded sugar and carb shop bought so looking forward to it, it's the silly little things that make me happy 🙂 thanks for all the fantastic support guys, couldn't get through it without you all 🙂 xYou know what, Kayla, I think as diabetic people we're expected to think in terms of "you can't have this, you can't have that" - that's certainly the way my DSN explained my new 'normal', anyway - which can be a really hard way to live. My attitude now is "I can have this, I can have that" but bearing in mind that there ARE foods that are best avoided if I want to stay in range. It's a tiny mental shift that has allowed me to feel that I deal with my diabetes on my terms, and it's stopped the constant guilt-trip (just cos I had a pudding once last week or I fancied a bar of chocolate!). Your levels look brilliant to me - you're right, try not to be so hard on yourself. 🙂
