I am using Abasaglar KwikPen (glARGine) 24 hour lasting pen and Truarpi short term (ASPART) pens. Truarpi is easy to use and "smooth" to oprate. I find that the Abasaglar, made by Lilly is awakward sometimes. The revolving part jams or is jamming. This has happened with different boxes so it was not a batch. Also, changed the needles but still happens. Is there a different brand I cak from my DSN? Not sure if Truarpi make a 24 hour one

Trurapi is just the product name @Finwiz It’s made by Sanofi. You’d be better off swapping the Abasaglar to Lantus, which is also made by Sanofi, and seeing if you can get a reuseable pen. Abasaglar is glargine insulin, as is Lantus. Lantus was the original glargine and Abasaglar is a generic version, made by Lilly.

Reusable pens are definitely the way forward and are very simple to change cartridges - the ones I have are Novopen Echos which also give you the ability to change to half units which is brilliant if you are making changes to your insulin regime (but unfortunately both of insulins you are on are incompatible with a Novopen, so such a change would mean a change in insulins, which would be down to your healthcare team to decide)

If you get abasaglar in a cartridge you need a humapen to go with it, might find that better to use. Or you can switch to a different background insulin just make sure you get the right pen to go with it if you get cartridges
