Hi all

Just a quick update.

Most of the alopecia has gone now. It lasted about 3 months.

You can still see a few bald spots but it's nowhere near as bad as it was. (the picture below is what it was like a few weeks ago)

Regards

Andy

Oh Andy, I'm so pleased it has cleared up for you! 🙂

So pleased things are improving for you 🙂. When one of my close friends hair came back his hair was a lot thicker than it use to be and a a darker colour🙂

Pleased to hear your probs in the hair dep't seem to be over Andy.

I was going to ask whether you'd had yer thyroid checked - hair dropping out quicker than a quick thing is a 'classic' symptom ...

glad its cleared up, I said I heard of no link to Diabetes, but I gave recently learned that it is an auto immune disease, so there is definitely a link......hope it stays away..........

Thanks for posting your story AndyS.

I am experiencing hair thinning - to the point I have had to move my parting!
Its only on one side of my head right at the front of all places.

I am not sure if it is diabetes related and I suppose I could say I have been going through quite a stressful time with my mum lately, so probably put it down to that.

The good thing is that there is sign of new growth - but I am constantly pulling loose hairs off my collar too!

I have noticed the tightening of the chest pains too (strangely whenever I am dealing with mum) so have promised myself I will keep things short and sweet and try and not stress too much. My mum has just been diagnosed with Dementia - and its a whole new world - and person sometimes!

Sorry Andys I have started hijacking your thread.🙂

Hi Trophywench

I mentioned having my thyroid checked and 2 different Doctors said it couldn't possibly be the cause, 'apparently' the quarterly blood tests I had done 6 months ago would have shown if there was a problem.

Andy

Hi Lucy

I hope your alopecia goes as quick as it appeared. It's so much worse for ladies, us guys can shave our head and look like Sean Connery or in my case I looked like Mr Bean 🙂

Stress has a lot to answer for, I get tightness in my chest and pains in my shoulders too, both of which the Doctor said is stress related.

It must be heartwrenching seeing someone go through dementia.

Take care

Andy 🙂
