Does anyone have one or know how useful they are?

I have one. I have found the food I have cooked in it very tasty. You get a nice crisp outside and a juicy inside. However I have not done in it everything they say you can. What I have found though is that mine (not sure about others), has only the capacity for cooking no more than two portions at a time. Mine is very big but the actual cooking bit is quite small.

I’m tempted to get one and, as I’m on my own, I would want a smallish one or one for a single person. I suppose a bit of research would not go amiss.

I have recently bought one and i love the fact that it lowers the amount of fat so much compared to deep fat frying.
i use it every sunday to roast my potatoes and parsnips ... it also works really well for roasting vegetables for that touch of med cooking

We've had an airfryer for a couple of years now. We love it, and if it went wrong, it'd be replaced in a heartbeat.

One thing I would say is don't think small, even if you are on your own. An airfryer is just like an oven, only faster and it makes the most wonderful crispy skin on chicken!

My OH is the main cook in our house and he even slow roasts joints in ours. Sometime he uses the rotisserie function, and sometimes it just sits on a rack.

This is the one we have but there are many others lie it, and many are a bit cheaper. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Power-Air-...eywords=power+air+fryer&qid=1618855254&sr=8-4

For me that would be a negative. I want to retain all the natural fat in my diet. Having said that I don't use a deep fat fryer I just roast in the oven in the meat fat and juices.

I have a hot air fryer and love it.
It's amazing what you can cook in them 🙂 As others have said very tasty results as well 🙂

I have a Tefal Actifry and when I phoned up about some spares they were surprised at its age.
It is one which just cooks and stirs the food - no extra trays or anything fancy.
I can cook a whole pack of chicken thighs in it then keep the ones for the next meal warm whilst I cook some stir fry or mushrooms in the juice and fat. I put the ones not needed at once to cool and the skins mysteriously evaporate, but they are then good for lunch or for dinner next day.
A small one might be adequate, but the larger size means I can put chops or steak into it without them being squashed.

Thanks for all the info. I’m going to take the plunge and go ahead and get one.

Hi @Browser I was initially sceptical about these until given a used one by a relative, who had upgraded.
I now use it regularly and recently gave one to my father. If mine died, I would replace it immediately.
Aside from chips it does amazing bacon with crisp fat and tender meat.
I’ve made toasted sandwiches, fish cakes, and have even done a small pork joint with crackling to die for.
They are really versatile, just make sure the basket is big enough for your needs.
I too upgraded and now have both the regular and the xxl models.
As @AndBreathe said, “An airfryer is just like an oven, only faster”.🙂

I have a 3tier air fryer . Great for my family of 5 . Also have single basket it would do for 2-3 people
