Hi all I'm on 2000 metformin now for the last month its like my body is shaking inside any help on this please sorry kind of nervous

No need to be nervous @mely 🙂 Everyone is friendly here.

Can you describe the shaking a little more? Do you visibly tremble, or is it more a kind of ‘butterflies in your stomach’ thing? Do you have a blood glucose meter to test at home?

It's like inside tremors it's visible I just feel inside and I test my bold like prick finger

What kind of numbers do you get when you feel like this?

Between 15 n 17 but doctors said blood in my body is 57

Sorry to hear about your trembling @mely, and that you aren’t getting much help or advice from your Dr. :(

The levels you mention are two different types of blood glucose measurement:

The 57 that your Dr quoted is likely to be an HbA1c, this is a long-range measure of how much glucose has stuck to red blood cells over the past 3-4 months. A reading above 48 gets a diagnosis with diabetes, but some people join the forum with readings of 100 or more. Ideally you’d like this reading to be as low as you can manage.

The 15 and 17 look like capillary blood glucose ‘fingerstick’ readings from a blood glucose meter. These show a snapshot of your levels at that one moment in time. Blood glucose fluctuates up and down during the day, and can be affected by many factors (up to 42!) especially by the amount of carbohydrate in your meals - which will raise your BG, and the level of activity and exercise - which generally lowers your BG. Ideally you’d want to gradually reduce these levels into a range closer to 4-8.5, which in turn will reduce your HbA1c.
