After not taking care of my self for a while i am now trying to get everything right so i am starting from scratch, the thing is for dinner today im having one of those fray bentos steak puddings with potatoes and cabbage the pudding is 43.9 g carbs potatoes i will weigh and work out carbs for them as i go,i have read that some split QA some before meal some after meal, how long after meal do i wait bfore taking second part.

I think it's a question of trying it a few times and seeing what works best for you. My son splits doses quite often for very carby/fatty meals, but he might not split at all for the pie unless it's very fatty. Usual thing experimenting to see what works for you, maybe start with an hour between jabs and take it from there? Pumpers will probably have a view so hopefully someone will chime in soon.

I would agree, there is no hard and fast rule. It will depend on the fat (and high carb, it appears) content of the meal, whether you split, what the split is and when you time it for. If this is a personal favourite, I think you need to pick a starting point - probably no split to begin with - and test before, one, two and maybe three hours after. This should give you some idea of the profile of the meal and how it affects your levels. You would then need to repeat the meal, but (depending on the results of the 'no split' test) try something different, like perhaps half upfront and the rest an hour after eating.

Trial and error, I'm afraid! 🙂

Hmm well it is high fat because of the suet content of the crust, isn't it?

However it might not be too violent depending on carb ratio. That and 4 pieces of spud is say 85g. Too much for me but each to their own.

You could try 60% now and 40% in an hours time?
