Have you tried watermelon? It seems OK for me.
 
Watermelon is fairly low In the GL index because it's mainly water.
 
@Bruce Stephens - it still helps T1s but not to reduce our spikes from food.
It works for me: just shows we’re all different! I now go for a brisk 20 minute walk straight after lunch and it definitely results in a smaller post meal rise than when I don’t.
