Hi everyone,

Been a while since I've posted here and I can say I've dropped some weight. Unfortunately, my hob at home is broken (long story, seems to be tripping the circuit when I turn some of the hot plates on and there's an odd burning plastic smell) and given I've got a combined hob/oven unit, I'm not really in a position to cook until my landlord can come in to take a look at it.

Unfortunately, this means I can't really mealprep my lunches and dinners for the week (at the very least). Does anyone have any tips regarding things like pack lunches to bring to work and whatnot? Or, at the very least, what's at least prediabetic friendly from a Tesco mealdeal.

Cooked meats, salads, coleslaw, tuna. You could buy a cheap air fryer so you can cook foods.
Ikea do a portable induction hob, plug in for £45 which may be useful.

What would you normally be cooking for your packed lunch that you now can’t cook? Then we can give suggestions that match your normal diet.

I often use my microwave good for cooking fish or vegetables and freshwell apphas muffins etc done in the microwave. The least your landlord could do is lend or buy you one.. I'm a salmon fan. Obviously you can used tinned or hot smoked. I suspect you could put boiling water on raw salmon and leave it covered and it would poach. I have seen lots of recipes where people cook things in their kettle. Check youtube

If you have a microwave, you will be surprised what you can cook from scratch.
I "steam" all my veg in microwave and cook fish in there too.
My mum used to make her Bolognese and chilli in hers.

A budget microwave and airfryer will cook most stuff between them. If the option is only one item I would pick an airfryer. It really depends on what you like to eat.
