Advice before my Hba1c tomorrow

I am having my Hba1c tomorrow morning at 7.30am
will be fasting from 9pm...I know it says only drink water, but can i drink any no added sugar drinks ?
Will it effect my results if i did ?
 
orange squash i had some the night before and i said and he said it was fine

p.p.s i wasnt actually certain you need to fast for an hbA i thought that was for the full works on yourself the yearly one etc etc .

are they testing for other things as well as your hba1c? usually if it's just an a1c you shouldn't need to fast. (although obviously do what they advise!)
 
cholestrol & liver too same as when i was diagnosed in April
Steff i am alergic to oj ,i only drink various no added sugar drinks.
 
You usually fast if you're having cholesterol tests - they can only give you total cholesterol if you don't fast, they can split it between LDL and HDL cholesterol if you do, so this might be why you've been asked to fast as you don't need to just for the HbA1c. I have no idea what affects those tests, so I'd just stick to water rather than risk skewing the tests. Hope all goes well!🙂
 
ahh yes that will be why , sorry satin didnt realise so do you like the tropical or blackurrent ?

"10 hour fasting" seems pretty clear! You've answered your own question.
 
the trick is to eat/drink right up until 9pm and then go to bed early :D

I'm due my tests soon. Grrrr.... 😡

I will have to go to the hospital for them...😡

The person doing me will only get one chance...😡

And if they can't find the vein I'll do it myself... :D
