Thanks Specs, I have had 2 Hba1c fasting blood tests at my local hospital as well as seeing the diabetic nurse at my GP practice. My other symptom is cold hands and feet last winter and this winter despite wearing two pairs of gloves and two pairs of socks.

I’ve found the Accu-Flix to be as painless as can be hoped for. But if you click onto next lancet in cassette you can’t go back as Bruce Stephens said. But perhaps you can use each of the 6 lancets in the cassette more than once if you don’t click onto the next one? Hadn’t thought of that… One good thing is that you can throw the used lancet cassettes into the rubbish and don’t need a sharps bin.

Yep - can use the same lancet much more than once! Once they start getting painful, click on to the next one ready for next time. The tips of them are never actually exposed until you press the button on the other end, to make the teeny hole in your finger, and you cannot see it doing that.

Once you've clicked to go to the next lancet I don't think you can go back, and once you've done that for the whole drum I don't think it can be reused.

No that’s right. But once you know the secret, you don’t have to advance to the next lancet in the drum of 6 until you want a fresh one.

I’m scrupulous with my ‘next Lancet’ frequency. Once every 6-12 months, whether I need to or not

I'm considerably more wasteful than you, Mike as I use at least two every week. Can't be doing with thick hard impenetratable skin on my fingertips again - they're far too important for that.

Ah… guitar kinda does that for me anyway, so mine don’t have much of a hope really :D

Some bits of girls need a very delicate touch mate - you blokes simply don't realise what delicate hothouse flowers those bits may be at times. Sometimes our own fault for being happy to eg shin up a ladder to see if the bloke on the roof is ready for his lunch - etc !
