Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Several times over the last few weeks I have found that I have not eaten a meal - now I realise that today I have not eaten at all.
I have had two mugs of coffee with cream - but my breakfast is in the fridge and my supper still on the stove.
I keep thinking I must have eaten something, surely,
When I went to get the cream, I think I ate some cheese, and I grabbed a few radishes - but I just turned off the heat under the sausages and stirfry and came to sit down with some coffee.
I suppose I ought to go and heat them up -
Does anyone else find that they have forgotten to eat?

No, I'm not sure what you're showing off about...but stop it...yes we've all just forgotten to day and taken insulin today!

All day, never, would be worried if did, enjoy food so look forward to meal times.

Might deliberately miss meal if still full from one before, but would be seriously worried about my mental health if forgot to eat at all, especially if it happened several times, should get checked out drummer old friend.

I have never forgotten to eat, but I do regularly unintentionally fasted, i.e. just didn't eat, cos I wasn't hungry, or didn't want what I prepared.
Is that a symptom of Diabetes? This happens if I have had a large meal the day before, particularly if it contains insoluble fibre such as pulses .
Not duly concerned, as long as I have breakfast, which normally is of the high fat content, I,e. Cheese, Egg's and the like.

No. Sometimes I eat lunch late if I’m busy, but i rarely skip meals. For one thing, it means missing an opportunity to get good nutrition in.

If you’re actually forgetting to eat, I’d think that needs checking out.

LOL that's funny. :D

I have forgotten to eat in the dim and distant past. I can't imagine it now when I seem to be ever more obsessed with food but I can remember it. If you're really into a task or are just not hungry, like the Sopranos says "What you gonna do?" Try and aim for one meal a day at least though. 🙂

I can forget to eat if I'm working really hard on something.

Well yeah - if my brain is otherwise busy - it's very easy to do and always has been, ever since I went to work in the centre of Birmingham, where it wasn't written in stone that you WOULD eat in the canteen, but were free to buy a sandwich from any number of retail sources.

I did eventually eat but have to confess that eating and sleeping have been a problem since our bass player died at the start of this month. She was a cantankerous old ..... biddy - and was not always in tune or in time - but she fell and broke her hip and came out of hospital with Covid.
Having survived cancer and several serious operations she was badly let down at the end and left alone to deteriorate until it was too late for any help.

Sorry to hear that Drummer. Life can be so unfair at times, but please look after yourself. She might have been a cantankerous old biddy but I’m sure she wouldn’t want you to make yourself ill. Take care.

I agree with @eggyg Look after yourself @Drummer Sometimes when bad things happen we have to make a real effort and push ourselves to maintain some kind of normality, but doing so can help.

I'm so sorry for your loss @Drummer that is terrible, to survive all that and then to go in such a manner. :( Diabolical.

I am very sorry to hear about your friend, @Drummer, that is awful. But I agree with the others, you must look after yourself, even while grieving.

Never... my partner believes I am harbouring a tapeworm

Sorry for your loss @Drummer - look after yourself. No I've never forgotten to eat, except maybe lunch during a crisis at work...then I'd notice my concentration going down and irritability going up!

Sorry to hear about your loss @Drummer - losing someone close to you is very hard. Loss of appetite and trouble sleeping can be part of the grieving. Look after yourself.

I am managing to eat once a day now - but I do have to insist that I eat. I am trying to divert myself taking up some different pastimes rather than concentrating on music.
