Abbott test strips dispensed wrong, again

For the third time in as many years my Chemist has dispensed ketone test strips instead of blood glucose test strips. I always leave a full box in my drawer to open when my every day meter supply runs out, then I order more. Yesterday evening before dinner I used the last one, injected and went upstairs for the spare packet...wrong strips. I had to guestimate my overnight long acting insulin and again before breakfast.
The problem is Abbott BS strips are in the same colour packet as their Ketone strips (they used to be a blue packet for BS and yellow for ketone). I have raised this with Abbott who said there was no problem but clearly there is. I have now three packets of test strips which will last me into 2014.
Yeh I know I should have checked before leaving the pharmacy but I was just too busy that day.

I've had the same problem a couple of times. I agree they really should differentiate the strips more clearly

Just so silly and a mistake that should never be made in the first place grr.

Yes Steff both the pharmasist and their assistant signed off that the prescription was correct. Silly me the only time I didnt open the paper bag and check the contents but I do feel guilty checking my prescription in front of the counter staff.

Should have seen me doing it with 2 carrier bags worth the other week! They had knotted the handles together but fortunately I could still see in the bags!
